May be you already heard the name of google webmaster tool. It is another google's free service/tool for the people who own a site or who own a blog. Owner of a site might have an interest for which keywords they are receiving traffic, which types of keyword they appear in google search engine including with many more features in their website or web blog. Google webmaster tool is perfect tool for that.

Before going into configure of google webmaster tool for your blog let's have a look at what this service can offer to us.
The Services offered by google webmaster tool
1)Submit sitemap(a list of pages of a web site accessible to crawlers) of your website. The purpose is to order google to crawl your site.

2)Disable crawler access. If you don't appear to list your site inside search engine then use a robots.txt file to specify how search engines should crawl your site's content.

3)Sitelinks. Google automatically links the interior pages within your website. However you can remove automatically generated sitelinks.

4)It also let you the option to target specific geographic area to improve search result for geographic queries.

5)You can setup your preferred domain(domain name with www. or without it) as well as crawl rate of your website.

6)You can see top searched queries and your page position of the queries. Also you can monitor the click activity to your pages through those searches.

7)To find the lists of external pages that link to your site.

8)List internal pages that link to the site.

9)Subscriber statistics. How may subscribers subscribe your feeds.

10)Crawl errors and crawl statistics.

11)Any recommendation of page title tags, duplicate titles etc.

Now let's have a look at how you can setup google webmaster tool for your own blog so that you can see or monitor above statistics. If you have a blospot blog then it is very easy to setup from the blog itself. To do setup,
How to setup google webmaster tool for a blog
1)Sign in to Blogger using your Google Account.

2)Click the Customize link. On top you will see the the Blogger Dashboard link, click dashboard.

3)In the lower of your dashboard page, under Tools and Resources, click Webmaster Tools.

4)Then just click "Enable Webmaster Tools" and you are done.

However if you have site rather than your blog then do following.
How to setup google webmaster tool for a website
1)Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools. You will be asked your google account user name and password. Provide that.

2)If it is ok then you are entered into google webmaster tools homepage. Click on the button "Add a site" , type your url and press Continue button.

3)You can then see the verification metatag. In fact you can verify your site by two ways, either by metatag or by html. You can a simple example to do that. Follow that and after setup your site as per direction click verify link.

You are done! Enjoy the statistics and reports.

Getting Google Sitelinks webmaster tool

"How do I get Google Sitelinks For My Site?"
I shall endeavor to do my best to answer this question. First and foremost the seemingly most important aspect of obtaining sitelinks is the age of your website. As with most of google's widgets & gadgets for detecting what sites best meet the search criteria entered, older website are favored. Another somewhat obvious aspect is being ranked number 1 in the serps for your niche or company. Now comes the less obvious information and this is where the most speculation will take occur. A clear site hierarchy is key for getting the site links you want, and a method of choosing what sitelinks display in the google search. What this means is fairly simple, using text links place the most important links in your site on your home page. Break the less trafficed sections of your site into subcategories that are then linked to from an "upper level" page that governs that "topic". When you make a sitemap for your site it should be clear the different levels of importance of each page or section of your website.
Aside from this, other information regarding google sitelinks is sketchy and left up to the imaginations of those at google who control our lives ;)
A sitelinks study :
As webmaster of a site you may come to notice that you have these wonderfully little google sitelinks in your webmaster tools section of google however you don't see them in a google search for your page.

Alright so a brief introduction. I am a web designer / programmer and having sites at the top of the google serps myself and for my clients I grew very excited when I learned of google sitelinks. Well I searched my webmaster tools for google sitelinks on all my sites and to my pleasure I found a site that did indeed have the miraculous little toys call google sitelinks. So as you may have already suspected I frantically went in search of what phrases displayed these nifty little links in a google search. Keyword after keyword i searched where my site displayed number 1 in the serps, and to my dismay no nifty little links anywhere to be found.
So, after a little time searching and learning the occasional fact but not really finding all the much about the topic, I made several sad discoveries.
1.) If your site does not display these google sitelink when you search something like your domain name, or company name, then odds are these links are not displaying for any search phrase.
2.) These links only display if you are the first result listed in Goolge for that particular search phrase.
3.) Just because Google webmaster tools say you have sitelinks, does not mean they are actually showing up anywhere.

Dofollow Trackbacks Plugin

DoFollow is the latest way to spread link love to your readers and it is indeed growing rapidly. At first, I haven ‘t given much attention to the dofollow movement since eventhough you have spam blockers like Akisment installed, people can still spam your posts by leaving meaningful comments just to get backlinks. I am against this. This is why I have created the Dofollow Trackbacks plugin to share your link love only with the people who has found your post valuable enough to link it on their blog.

Although I have always told Wordpress users to increase their page rank value and the quality of seach engine optimization on their blogs, I highly encourage bloggers to share their link love with other bloggers. Other dofollow plugins like the ones from Semiologic & Kimmo Suominen, in my opinion, caused a new type of spam to erupt in the blog network. Even though many people do remove rel=”nofollow” in their links , you can not be sure if they are really intimate about sharing link love and deactivate the plugin later on.
Installation of Dofollow Trackbacks Plugin:

1. Download the source file: thb-dofollow-trackback.phps
2. Rename the file to thb-dofollow-trackback.php
3. Upload it to your plugins folder
4. Active the Dofollow Trackbacks Plugin on the plugin page

I came up with this “U Trackback I Follow” image to post it on your webpage and please include a link to this post to encourage more people to remove rel=”nofollow” in their trackback links. You can save the image by right clicking and selecting save image as. Its pretty small (97 * 97), so it can easily fit in your sidebar.
